Iran Demands U.S. & Israel Hold Off Attack While They Build Their Bomb

“My first impression is that Iran has gotten a freebie,” Israel’s Netanyahu said yesterday during a meeting with U.S. Senator Joseph Lieberman according to a text message from the prime minister’s office in Jerusalem. “It has five weeks in which it can continue enrichment without any limitation, any inhibition.”

Haaretz: Iran is demanding that the U.S. and Israel hold off on any attack of Iranian nuclear facilities as long as the meaningless talks continue and while they continue to enrich uranium and do whatever else they are doing in their mountain laboratories. As if that isn’t absurd enough, we have agreed to do just that.

Haaretz:…This time around, among the details leaked from the conference hall was an indication that the world powers would agree to continued Iranian nuclear enrichment activities at the relatively low level of 3.5 percent, and would not require that the Fordo underground facility near the Iranian city of Qom be dismantled. The world powers would require continuous monitoring of nuclear fuel production sites, according to the leaks.
Western officials have made clear their immediate priority is to persuade Tehran to cease the higher-grade uranium enrichment it began in 2010. It has since expanded that work, shortening the time it would need for the relatively rapid development of nuclear weapons. Iran has signaled some flexibility over limiting its uranium enrichment to a fissile purity of 20 percent, compared with the 5 percent level required for nuclear power plants, but also suggests it is not ready to do so yet…Read more

Does anyone really believe Iran is not building a bomb and this is a viable foreign policy? The weaker we appear, the more emboldened Iran becomes, and the greater the likelihood of war.
